Welcome to the new and virus-free bulletin board. The last board used a programming language that made it susceptible to viral infections. It caught a BIG one and is permanently closed. One of our classmates reported having to get IT support (at work) to clean up her computer. It took several hours to do so. That is just not OK. My apologies. This bulletin board is the same type that Mr. Debbie has been using on his site for about six years. It works great.

I certainly can't speak for everyone else, but I do have to say that I think the 78-81 mixer this past weekend was a hit. It was so nice to see so many different faces that I personally haven't seen for years, some 27 years! And laugh, oh boy, the stories were flying that night.

I want to thank everyone who made the effort and showed up. It really was a great evening...

I got a very pleasant e-mail from a classmate this morning. Thank you!

I had a great time at the mixer. It was nice to be able to mingle again with the classes ahead and behind us. Fun to see some familiar faces that I hadn't seen in years and years. And Chuck Halstad and Tim Graupmann even showed up! Word is that there were over 250 people that showed up.

I took a bunch of pictures and I'll have them posted soon. If anyone out there that I may have taken a picture of doesn't want it posted speak now or forever hold your peace!

If anyone has any photos they would like posted please send them to me and I'll be more than happy to get them on here. Old pictures or new.

Oh yeah, on another note, you don't have to register to post on this board. Just put in your username of choice. No password or e-mail needed.

I'm glad the board is back up Debbie.
It was really nice to see the folks at the mixer, and the choir/band thing, and the City Band concert, etc. We left TH Monday afternoon and arrived back home Thursday evening.

WOW Deb! The newly remodeled site looks great. Sorry to hear about the demise of the old format. Gotta be tough to lose all those threads with so many messages.

Sure is neat to hear all the stories of the fun had by everyone at the various class functions around Th and Duluth over Hertiage days,

Hey- where did everybody and everything go?
I kind of miss my old posts, but I suppose nobody else really will....time to move on!

It is great to hear from you Debbie E. I wish I could have played again in the band and sang in the choir. It sounds like fun.

Brian A, glad to hear you all made it back home safely. I know that is kind of a late-in-coming statement but heartfelt nontheless! I'm very happy that you were able to be here.

Torggy, thanks! This is the 3rd board that I've had since I started this site and this will be the last! As you know, this one has been tried and has stayed true for a couple other webmasters that I know.

Cherieo - Kind of quiet huh? Maybe everyone is still recovering from the mixer? I was going to hand out cards at the mixer with the site link on it but I thought that might be just a LITTLE tacky!!!

I'm anxiously awaiting the return of our beloved Mr. Timmy to the board. We'll see if we can coax him out of hiding. We love you Timmy!

Whats everyone doing this summer? I can't believe its almost over already! We've had a few fun adventures with the kids, a trip to Chuck E Cheese's in Burnsville with a trip to Camp Snoopy for rides for the kids. Mr. Debbie and I spent alot of time sitting and waiting for rides to be over. We spent some time at Como Park/Zoo too. Man has that place changed since I was a kid!! I didn't recognize much of anything. We all did get to ride the big carosel that used to be at the State Fair. It was built in about 1914. Very cool. When was the last time any of you rode a big ol' carosel like that?

Anyone know anyone that needs a big old traditional house in TH? Our old house is still for sale. We'll look at all offers!! ;)

If any of you former classmates have links to your business web sites let me know and I'll post them under my links.

So many losses lately. Looper Larson last week and now Dorothy Herschbach, wife of Mr. Dennis Herschbach. She was a very kind and special lady. We also got word last night that Mr. Halsted's wife passed away unexpectedly. Our condolences to their families. Also to our Mr. Timmy on the loss of his mother last month.

As most of you know, I spent a lot of time at Keeler's house and cabin while growing up in TH. My two most vivid memories of Big Jim are, walking into their house one Saturday morning with Jan (now my wife) and seeing a white blur run past down the hallway. It was Big Jim running for the bedroom as he only had on his T-shirt and shorts. The other is being at Jeff's house when Big Jim came back from shopping in Duluth. He needed a winter coat so I asked him if he got it at Duluth Tent and Awning. He would have crushed me between his fingers if he would have caught me!

He was always there to support his kids and their friends and treated all of us like family. Thanks Jim, for everything you did for us. We will all miss you greatly.

I remember being brand new to TH. A 5th grader. First day of gym. I had no clue. I didn't have any gym clothes with me so I showed up at gym wearing my purple and gold hot pants and my gold satin shirt. With my knee high white vinyl boots of course. Mr. Keeler scared the crap out of me that first day. Accused me of wanting to show off my new clothes. Left me speechless. Lets just say I never forgot proper gym clothes attire again! Another memory is when he and Joe Fabini and someone else (can't remember) saved our butts at a hockey game in Proctor. Some of us TH girls had gone outside between periods. Cops were around. Accused us of drinking and throwing out empties in the parking lot. Big Jim and Big Joe were at our sides in an instant and rattled that poor cops cage in no time.

On another note.....Dave, we were cleaning out our basement yesterday at our old house and imagine my surprise when I found an old baseball glove WITH YOUR NAME ON IT!!! All I can figure is that I must have gotten it for my boys several years ago at a garage sale your mom had. How wild was that??

Hopefully your boys will do better with it than I ever did. My oldest (14) has been playing a lot of baseball as he was on two teams this summer. I coached the Junior team which finished 2cnd in the Little League playoffs and his Legion team finished 4th in the State. He will be a freshman this year so didn't get to play much on the Legion team, but it was good for him to see how fast the game is with the high school kids.

Well I am dumbfounded by the death of Mr.Jim. He was a genuine parental figure for me as I grew up. The whole family always treated me like one of their own, and, (in hindsight) I may have based my own parenting upon the example presented me by Jim and Laurie Keeler. Who can argue the fact that they did indeed raise three fine boys into stalwart young men and then into genuine citizens? The worst I ever did at their home was scan the National Geographic in hopes of catching a view of some, well you know. (I think they hid the really good issues.) Big Jim taught me to swim, as he did countless others. He taught me that it was ok to get a cut, bite, sunburn, or whatever and not whine about it. Jeff, Gary, Dave, thanks for sharing your dad with me for a time...

Well this board has been awful quite! What have you been up to since the kids went back to school? We took all 3 boys to 6 Flags in Denver on Labor Day, was pretty nice to lay out in the sun, relax and let the boys play in the pool, slides and rides. Our 12 year old is playing soccer after school but will be down for a couple of days as he is finally getting the two titanium rods (snowboard accident) out of his femur on Monday the 19th. My 14 year old is waiting for basketball practice to start in October. Couldn't talk him into playing football this fall. Come October 15th-19th we will be elk hunting near Gunnison, CO. Licenses only cost us 3 residents less than $60 so "can't beat it with a stick" even if we only get one elk. A female elk will weigh about 600# and a bull will weigh about 800#. it's a lot of work but better than going to the grocery store to buy steaks!! Two of our ski resorts will open next month with a couple of runs on manmade snow. Time to get the skis waxed!!

It HAS been rather quite hasn't it? I know I haven't been posting lately. I guess I got tired of seeing my own name up all the time. And it seemed like there was never any good or fun news to share! Only lots of sad stuff. More of that again.......our condolences to Kelly Jackson on the death of his son Chad. Our thoughts are with you Kelly.

Since school started we have been busy trying to sort out life again! Brad and I are soccer coaches for our youngest's team. Co-ed. 7 and 8 year olds. What a blast!!! Thank you Mike Cable for twisting my arm up and behind my back to get me to do this. But don't come looking for me next year. ;)

We did alot of fun things over the summer and the fall has been equally as busy. My beautiful step-daughter, her handsome and wonderful boyfriend and our gorgeous and treasured grandchildren came to visit from Arkansas the day before Labor Day and stayed for a week. What a wonderful treat!! Hard to say goodbye though....Grandma Debbie was standing at the end of the driveway in tears as the car pulled away. Sigh.

The twins are in 6th grade and just started pony football. Tackle!! in 5th and 6th grade! uff da. Luckily our boys are a couple of tanks so they can hold their own out there. They went to the ELC with the whole 6th grade class last week. Remember when we went??!! WHOLE new ball game now. Its in Finland now. And its a whole lot nicer and much more fun and even a little more educational !! Very nice place and what a great experience for all of them.

Dave, glad to hear your son is finally getting those rods out. I'm guessing he is very relieved! Has it healed okay? Is elk really that good to eat? I don't eat wild game, never developed a taste for it. They serve it at Grand Superior Lodge out in Castle Danger. My husband tried it and he said it was actually very good. I'll pass though. If it doesn't come on a stryofoam mattress with a clingy plastic sheet covering it, I won't eat it. Wow, I think that almost sounded dirty.

Good morning. Likewise, we had a great summer. Great as it was, it was really a different one for me. For the past 18 years, everything we've done has been about the boys. This summer was a whole different ballgame. They are both working now so are gone and busy all the time. We did get some great camping in, several times without the boys, which made me remember what I was doing the summer before my senior year, and it was at that point I was so very thankful that my guys were making such excellent decisions!!

Fall is here, although by the warm weather we're having you'd never know. The trees are slowly beginning their transition to being bare and as northlanders we're slowly turning our frame of mind to the whiteness that will in a blink of an eye be blanketing our lifes. Yuck. But already our winter vacation getaway has been bought and paid for and next summers vacation plans are already starting to surface.

Hope this finds everyone doing well.

Michael's leg has healed fine. He stayed home from school on Tuesday, went half a day, Wednesday and all day today. Still using crutches but should be off them in a day or so. The doctor gave him the titanium rods as a souvenier and told him to make wind chimes out of them!

Yes Debbie. elk is that good, you can cut it with a fork as long as you don't overcook it. Besides it is nice to eat something not full of chemicals, artificial hormones and steroids for a change. I had caribou at a local restuarant recently, that is excellant too. I'm sure PETA has me on their hit list. That's ok, leaves more for the rest of us!!

Dave....how much more snow has there been out there? Its been a beautiful fall here in TH. Gorgeous days, temps in the 50's, cool nights. One of the best falls in a long time. It can be fall all year as far as I'm concerned!

Brian - how are you dear? Still warm and dry and safe down there? Are the natives treating you okay? Call us sometime and let us know how things are.

Cherio - Whats the deal?? That new boss of yours have you working "extra hours" doing "special projects" or something? Haven't seen your name on here in quite awhile.

No snow lately. The last storm we had dropped 30" at the ski resort in Breckenridge, but they won't open for skiing until Nov. 11. There are two resorts open so far but not worth visiting yet (need more than one run for me to step into my skis.) We've had frost on the ground every morning for the last two months, but that's to be expected when you live at 9600 feet. Not real busy otherwise, workng on a couple of bids and subcontracts. So far deer and elk=3 hunters=0. Still have some more time left though.

Hope you all don't mind me reading your board. It's fun to go way back every now and then to once upon a time. You do a great job, Deb. I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Keeler, as well. My best story: I guess I always raced to be first in the shower after gym class or football practice...I don't remember what it was. So Mr. Keeler tells everyone, without my knowledge, to take their time getting undressed after class. I race into the shower and then everyone else - still dressed - gets the good laugh calling me a streaker. Just good clean fun.

Jerry!!! Mind you reading the board??? Are you kidding?? You're one of us! Like it or not pal, you've been marked for life. What a funny Mr.Keeler story! Wish we all could have been there for that one though. ;) I have a few Jerry stories. My favorite one involves our whole class being at the arena for gym class. Mrs. Northy was substitute teaching. When class time was over she told us all to line up at the door and wait there until she could lead us all back to the Minne. Well, my dear friend Jerry was at the head of the line and he says "Lets go!" The rest of us giggle. He says "Really! Whats she gonna do if we ALL leave???!!!" So, of course we all left. Mrs. N came scuttling behind us yelling "you people come back here! Stop right this second!!!" Oh what fun! Thanks Jerry, that is still a most excellent memory.

When the mood strikes and you feel like wandering back up to the northland please call! We would love to see you. Its been too long....like, about 16 years now?

Wakey..Wakey. Is everyone hibernating in MN? We've got the most snow here in Breckenrigde, CO that they have had in 20 years. Snowing every day for a week or so, 50" + on the ski runs, over 100" to date have fallen and winter for us is only a month old. Breckenridge Ski Resort just opened the highest lift in North America yesterday, 12/5/05. It lets you off at 12,840 feet. Haven't tried it yet but maybe this weekend when it warms up a bit. Supposed to be 15 below tonight, sounds like MN weather!

So what is everyone doing for Christmas? We are going to AZ to warm up for a week.

Happy B-day to me! I had a fun weekend. Went to the Holidazzle parade and the Dakota Jazz club on the Nicollet mall. The music and food are amazing, but pricey. Bumped into a local TV anchorman in the Dakota.

We also went to a fun multi-band tribute to Prince. Funny to see the young girls wearing bell bottom jeans and platforms like we did.

Have been busy at work with visitors from Australia and Singapore the past two weeks. Took them out for sushi and Moroccan cuisine.

Take care, happy holidays and merry Christmas.

Oh my....its been awhile since I've posted eh? First of all, Happy Birthday to you Cherieo!

Its total winter in TH. As most of you probably know, we got a HUGE dump of snow a couple weeks ago. Over 26 inches of snow in 2 days. They cxld school for 2 days in a row. Wimps.

Is everyone ready for the holidays? Not me! Santa has alot of work to do yet. I don't know about anybody else but every year it just seems to get crazier and crazier. TOO much going on. Too much to do. Too many "events" to attend or be a part of. Its nuts. I think I'm going to boycott everything except the things that really mean Christmas to me.

So what do you all want for Christmas? What do you think you'll get? Have you been really good or really naughty? To answer my own question, I should get a lump of coal if that tells you anything. ; )

For all of you that were in choir in high school or for those of you that remember the concerts from way back then, Brad and I had the ultimate pleasure of singing in a true Daryl Johnson Christmas choir this past weekend. We joined the Community Choir earlier this fall and there were about 70 of us that worked on getting all of the old music from the good old days perfected. Let me tell you, it was a very moving experience to once again be a part of that. It was excellent in high school but even better now. The male voices have matured alot since then so that is a powerful sound unto itself. It got rave reviews. There will be a DVD/CD coming of it in the very near future. Look under the "links" on my site to find the Daryl D. Johnson foundation site to get more info. I'm hoping they put in some new pictures soon too. If you have any laying around please e-mail them to them!

Big news on the Agate hockey front: The TH Agates beat the Silver Bay Mariners in OT last night 6-5. First time in way more than 5 years that TH has beaten SB. The place was crazy wild. The tieing goal came with 1/2 a second left on the clock I think. Magnificent adreniline rush!!

Here is wishing each of you a safe, happy and fulfilling Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year!

I once again will send out a plea to our friend Timmy. Post honey!! You too Tommy.

More sad news......Mr. Ozzie Hatlested passed away on Monday. His obituary is in the duluth paper: www.duluthsuperior.com

What a fun guy he was. I'll miss seeing his happy smile around town and the parade won't be the same without his clown persona. Rest in Peace Oz.

We just came back from Intl Falls and Tower from our race, the Arrowhead 135 mile Winter Ultra.
We had 32 racers and half finished in temps that dipped down to 17 below zero...cool!

I am copying this from the All Class Reunion site. There are some of us that are interested in having one of these benches done for the class of '79. If any of you would be interested please make your desire known to Ms Lynn (Davis) Daoust. You can write the check to her and note it as "bench" and all money recieved will be put towards a bench to represent our class. I believe the cost is about $130 so its not too much of a stretch if a few of us coughed up some change. Just a thought.

"Wooden Benches in Honor of Various Classes at THHS

All classes that graduated from Two Harbors High School are invited to donate some money for the purchase of wood to make a bench in honor of their class. The wood shop classes will make the benches, and Dick Bohrer of Silver Creek Signworks will make the engraved plaques to gon them. The only thing that will need to be purchased is the wood to make the benches. This is a wonderful opportunity for your class to be memorialized at the new school site! The benches will be placed near the tennis courts, and along the various pathways leading to the athletic fields. Please contact the head of your reunion committee if you are interested in this project."

I'm also curious to hear comments from those of you that were able to tour the new school while you were in town. I really enjoyed seeing it and only wish we would have had something so nice! However, I think its too small considering they are hoping to attract new students to the district. The auditorium and cafeteria space especially. But did you check out the football field and those REAL BLEACHERS???!! Excellent.

The high school was awesome, but I have to agree with you, Debbie, that the cafeteria seemed very small. Doesn't seem like there could be seating for 300 kids. What were those glass oven-like things in the biology & chem labs? Someone on our tour joked maybe for cooking pizzas? The smart boards were pretty neat, too. I'm thinking my GPA woulda been a lot better if we'd had those in our day!

Oh yeah, if you go to the "links" topic and click on the Daryl Johnson link there are now some photos on there from the all class choir and also some older ones from 1975. They hope to get alot more pictures sent to them so they can put them on their site. There are several comments by former choir members in the quotation spot on that site too. Very cool memories for those of us that were in choir.

Berta, I agree about the cafeteria. There were a few things that seemed odd to me. The cafeteria for one...the way it is on the main floor right down from the main entrance and right out in the open? And the library, its going to be really nice but its all open and the locker bay is right next to it. I would think it would get awfully noisy for anyone in the library between classes when kids are using the lockers. The lockers are another thing...they are so SMALL! Someone had posted on another board that they thought whomever picked those must have forgotten that we live in NE MN and in the winter we wear big heavy jackets and boots! No room in those narrow lockers for items like that. In spite of those things, I think it will be a great school for the TH students and a much needed addition to the district. During the All Class Reunnion those that hadn't been in the old school for a long time I'm sure it was quite a shock to see how it has deteriorated.

I went through the new school. The pool is huge. Made for serious competition. The choir room and band room will also be very big and bright. My favorite is the TWO HARBORS in the floor in the enterance. What a nice touch. I am sure that the new students will make lots of memories in the years to come.

Okay, Heritage Days is almost here. I hope to see an excellent showing from the class of '79. We will be at the Legion on Friday night, of course. Mr. Debbie has his class reunion this year so we'll be tied up with that for awhile but I have every intention of bobbing up the stairs to mingle with the rest of the world many times during the night. If you're around and you see me please come over and say hi. I won't bite.

Another excellent Heritage Days event! I saw alot of '79'ers and it was very nice talking to you all. To the gentleman that stopped me to say hi outside the front door of the Legion....I know you might be reading this...I still think you should post. :-)

Mr. Debbie had his 30 year reunion. We went out on the Grandpa Woo for a couple hours and it was a perfect evening for being out on the lake. I'd never been on there before but I'd like to do it again. Maybe we should think about doing that for our 30th? Only 3 more years and we're there! Better start planning it now..............

Hello all 1979 Classmates! It is a beautiful, balmy 78 degree day in Denver, Colorado - our colors are just starting change and fall is in the air, especially in the a.m. I miss the lake so much - this was my first summer without a trip home to T.H. - I moved my folks out here last December. They are aging - my Dad will be 89 next month and my Mom turned 80 in April. I'm very glad they are here with me - but caring for the "older generation" is much more work than I thought.

I hope to catch up with all of you! Have a great fall! Cindy Coleman Waller

Welcome Cindy! I apologize for my tardiness. Busy few weeks around here.

I didn't know you had moved your folks out there. I'm sure they are grateful that they have a caring daughter like you. I didn't realize your dad was that age! I haven't seen them in a few years and they will always be in their early 60's as far as I'm concerned! :-)

It is absolutely gorgeous here now. Last week was probably the peak week for the colors. A few days of rain and some wind took down alot of the leaves but its still nice. Today the sun is shining bright and the lake is sparkling. My favorite time of year!

Debbie: Well - we have had another week of 80 degree weather with just a teensie little bit of rain. I tell you, the leaves just don't smell right when it is this hot!!!

I'm glad you have memories of my folks in their 60's. My Dad's body is shot - he is in a wheelchair and can't ambulate at all - you have to lift him to and from his chair to the car, etc. But his mind is still pretty sharp and his wit and smile never far.

My Mom has found new life at 80 - she loves her Assisted Living and while her aches and pains are always present - I am so proud of her coming out of her shell at this age and embracing her new friends and lifestyle. We have become friends in addition to Mother and Daughter and I cherish my time with them.

I be missing that lake oh so much. . yah. . and the smell in the air. Enjoy for me. Have a great weekend - Cindy

Miller, Laurie Jo (Jasmer)

Laurie Jo (Jasmer) Miller, 45, of Two Harbors, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006 at the Lake View Nursing Home in Two Harbors, surrounded by family. She was born Sept. 14,1961 to Virgil and Jo (Malfeo) Jasmer in Two Harbors. Laurie graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1979. She went on to attend Duluth Area Vocational School until employed at Advance Star (Harcourt Brace and Jovanvich). Laurie was employed for 18 years as one of their youngest supervisors, until she left on disability due to M.S. in 1997. She married Brad Miller in Two Harbors, on September 11, 1982 and remained together until 2002. Laurie fought a courageous battle with M.S. for 23 years. Laurie never said 'Why me?' or complained. Laurie loved being a wife and a Mom to her daughter Tanya Joy Miller, spending time in their boat on Lake Superior, fishing for walleye at Cadott Lake, and summer vacations at Anderson's on Burntside Lake in Ely. Laurie loved to sun bathe, play the piano, read magazines and shop, "I'll shop until you drop" with her friends. Laurie's sense of humor always kept us smiling. Laurie is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Tony and Clara Malfeo; paternal grandparents, Art and Irene Jasmer and special aunt 'Ione Annie' Toni Malfeo. Laurie will remain in the hearts of her daughter, Tanya of Two Harbors; her parents; her brothers, Steve (Beth and family) of Cedar, Minn.; Scott (Renette) of Houston, Texas; the Beverly Miller family; 8 nephews; one niece; aunts and uncles and loving friends. The family wishes to thank the care givers at Bay Shore Young Adult Unit for the five years Laurie lived there and most especially to the staff at Lake View Nursing Home for their loving care and support these last two years. A special thanks to the Hospice Team from St. Mary's for supporting Laurie and her family in the last two weeks. VISITATION:6-8 p.m. with Wake Prayers starting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 at Cavallin Funeral Home and continuing from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday December 21, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Rest in peace Laurie.

Thanks, Debbie, for posting Laurie's obituary. I was wondering if our classmates that don't have family in town anymore would get the word. I just want to add that Mary Seckinger Aschenbrener and I went to visit Laurie about a week before she died, knowing it would be our last time. Although she couldn't really say more than a word or two, I know she was making the connections. We paged through the 1979 yearbook and she smiled and laughed. It was a good last memory to have of her. It made me realize how we don't often think about the impact we have on anyone else's life, and I want the class of '79 to know that you gave Laurie's happy memories and laughter right to the end. We were blessed to have her in our life.

Thank you, Kay, for posting those thoughts and for sharing your last moments with Laurie. I agree, none of us really know what impact we have had on others lives. I know what MY perspective of my high school days were, but only recently have I found that I made impressions on others that I knew nothing about back then. I don't know of anyone that has a negative thing to say about Laurie and I hope she knew how much she meant to so many of us.

Laurie was a very special person and I will miss her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Lynn Davis Daoust and her family as they continue to pray for Lynn's younger sister Lorie Davis Uruttia, class of 1982. Lorie was admitted to St Mary's a week ago in critical condition. They didn't think she would live more then a couple days but after 4 or 5 surgeries and alot of prayer, she is still hanging in there. Please remember Lorie in your prayers.

It is with great sorrow that I share with you the news that Lorie Davis Urrutia, Class of 1982, youngest sister of Lynn Davis Daoust and Scott Davis, has passed away this morning at about 11:00 am. The funeral is tenatively planned for this Saturday. Friends and family are working on a benefit to help Lorie's husband Dave and their 5 children that are at home yet. I will post whatever information comes my way in regards to that. In the meantime, please pray for healing for this family.

okay all of the faithful readers out there...not sure what is going on. I can post, apparantly no one else can! I think it has something to do with the fact that we are switching domain registers, meaning, another domain register site will be the lucky recipient of the money I pay to own this site instead of the domain place we currently use. I think maybe we're just in limbo. I'll check into things and will post again when all is well. Of course, I AM only a lowly woman and I may not be able to come up with the answer to this problem on my own but, luckily for me, I have my big, strong, talented and smart husband to turn to. He's a guy. He'll know how to handle this.

(that last part goes out with love to my brother-in-law. You know who you are. You know I know where you live. :-) )

It seems to be working okay, now. Actually, I think our class has always been pretty quiet and introverted. It must be the Finnish and Scandinavian influence and maybe something about the 80's that made people too competitive and serious about their image.

I have been busy setting up my own forum lately for our extreme race in International Falls.

We seem to have a bunch of crazy people in the race that are less worried about what other people think.

I find it fun to come out of my shell once in a while and risk a post for the world to see. You don't need to say much. I am just happy to see that our classmates are still kicking.

regards,

COOL! Maybe its just non-registered posters? Not sure. But thanks for posting a test for us!! Good to hear from you again. Are you still in the same location or did you relocate? Extreme race sounds interesting. Post your link when its ready to view!

I think we're too old now to be quiet and introverted. The years are ticking off and if we don't speak up now then.........when?

I received the below email about Brad's post, but it does not seem to appear in the forum.
I tried to post a joke with the name Chickless and it did not work, either.

Hi. I wanted to say to Lynn and Scott that I am very sorry for the loss of your sister. I meant to say so some time ago, but realized I have no words to express what I want to say to each of you. I hope that you can remember the good times that you had together.

I'm glad the board is working again. Debbie, thank your handsome husband for fixing it for us. I knew he would if you asked him nicely.

Thanks Brian. It's been a tough 5 plus weeks. Hard to really believe she isn't with us any longer. She is finally where she needs to be though, no more pain and suffering. The support that friends and family has shown is unbelievable, people really care. Alot.

Coming home this summer Brian? Home. Funny, after nearly 30 yrs. I'm still calling TH your home!!

That sounds like a good opening line for a joke.

Anyone that can come up with a really good punch line to that one will earn an all expense paid trip to my house for only $8,000. That includes food and lodging. Airfare is the responsibility of the winner. Your check for $8,000 may be sent directly to me.

Let me just say, there's still time folks! There were alot of you from the class of '79 that made me laugh. One of you must have a punch line just laying around waiting to be used!

Mr. Jim Bursch passed away yesterday afternoon. He had been diagnosed with cancer not long ago but his death yesterday was unexpected. Rest in peace Mr. Bursch.

This is an FYI for those who are interested. There was a sale held at the old THHS during Heritage Days. We sold a ton of stuff very reasonably priced for community members to be able to get some neat stuff. Some of it was purely sentimental and some of it still has some life left in it. We sold built in cabinetry on silent auction and sold every piece listed. Thank you to everyone who came and scored your very own treasure!

For those of you who missed it there is some good news - we will be holding the final (really final) sale on August 4th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. We have unburied all of the stuff in the small gym and we have scavenged throughout the building for treasures like mirrors, locker room benches, more shelving units and built-ins, surplus costumes from drama, more library shelf boards, chalk board slate (lots), and a whole bunch of other goodies! We will also have auditorium seats available and of course the remainder of the classroom and office doors will be for sale. Want a special door - just ask! Only 4 doors have been sold at this point so there's plenty left. You may also reserve your commemorative brick while you are shopping. I hope to see each and every one of you at the sale! Spread the word!

I have been spear-heading these sales so if you have questions please give me a call, however, I'm going to my sister's in Missouri for some "girl time" in the morning and will be gone until the 26th. Jeff will be around and he can convey your message/question and I will get back to you.

Thanks!

Cyndi

CHANGE IN DATE ON THE SALE AT THE SCHOOL. IT WILL BE AUGUST 11TH.

THERE IS A TON OF NEW STUFF. INCLUDING OLD TROPHIES.........I THINK THOSE SHOULD BE PUT AT THE NEW SCHOOL......MAYBE INDUSTRIAL ARTS COULD BUILD A DISPLAY CASE FOR THEM?? ANYWAY, LOTS OF STUFF LEFT.
